ITV News at Ten (22nd November 1988)
Переглядів 14 тис.2 роки тому
The end of sitcom Executive Stress and the beginning of Boon lead into a full edition of News at Ten from 22.11.88, complete with ads and continuity from Granada, and Charles Foster fronting Granada Reports. Of particular interest is the item at 32:08, which unveils an early mockup design for "the phone of the future", or - based on its feature set - what we'd now call a smartphone.
The Late Show: Frank Zappa (11th March 1993)
Переглядів 119 тис.2 роки тому
This BBC documentary about Zappa, made near the end of his life, has been available elsewhere on YT for some time, but the other versions are pretty poor-quality and none are 50fps, so hopefully this represents the best-quality version currently online.
Starting Science - a complete primary school VHS's-worth - Spring 1985
Переглядів 3,9 тис.2 роки тому
This is a complete capture of a VHS of Starting Science recorded at a primary school during the spring term 1985, starting on Wednesday 16th January. Many thanks to Jason Robertson for the teletext archaeology that has come up with the exact TX dates and times for everything. There are a few oddities to note, such as the countdown clock starting to reset itself in-vision; the key clipping level...

A foreign space scientist is claiming political asylum in the UK - but is he a genuine defector, or a threat to national security? A team of winning agents from previous missions must investigate. This edition of Masterspy features possibly one of the most bizarre uses of puppets ever on British television.

The Major, Miss Moneypacker, Agent X and some top 70s consumer electronics as prizes in the first-of-its-kind espionage game show.
Video Sounds - Mike Oldfield live in Nottingham, 1981 (Re-upload)

There are multiple versions of this show already on UA-cam but none of them are 50fps, so I thought I'd remedy that. Unfortunately my own off-air, recorded on the 6th August 1987, is rather grainy, due to our reception of Thames TV being rather poor at the time. Sorry about that.
The Masterspy - "The Chateau de Galais Incident" - ITV 21st April 1979
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 роки тому
Hostages held in an explosives-rigged French chateau pose a problem for this week's crop of operatives. But who is Agent X? As ever, William Franklyn presides.
The Masterspy - "Assassination Attempt on Moneypacker" - ITV 14th April 1979

William Franklyn is the ice-cool Major with the bone-dry wit in another edition of the espionage-themed quiz show. This one features David Jason and Tony "Crossroads" Adams in character roles.
Various UK road safety and driving test films from the 50s and 60s
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 роки тому
A selection of vintage public information films from the COI collection that I believe are mostly unavailable elsewhere (I think I've seen the Check Four ones before). They're all themed around driver safety or the driving test. Of particular interest is the IDT/Link driver training system demonstrated in the final film, The Right Approach; it's an indoor driving simulator involving a 1960s com...

Crying shame that his time was cut so incredibly short.
NO WAY
I mean this sincerely, Noddy Holder and Freddie Mercury are two of the greatest rock singers of all time. Why? They can carry a great tune and hold it till the fat lady sings. Rock on Noddy!!!!!!!!!!!!
but what happened to the shape of the sharks mouth?
Well done Roy.
jpeople didnt die becasuse of the bible. People died because of the nature of mankind. Without the Bible, people would kill with the same venom they've always had
Give me. Your dirty love .
Seeing the great John Noakes at the beginning reminds me how lucky I and my generation were to have him to entertain and inform us.
Very nice too and well done of course.
❤❤❤❤
RADIO (NATIONAL OR LOCAL) WILL NEVER BE AS GREAT. AGAIN. BAUBER KILLED THE RADIO STARS (and their stations.. Stone Dead.)

Both great, Greaves had more skill.
Bagsy not riding with Rolf...
This tune is very similar to Toby's tune from Thomas the Tank Engine. I keep singing it.

Very good to see this, I also liked the unusual touch of no end music, not sure if it applied to the other episodes. It seems this has never been released on DVD which is a shame.
Janet Brown is hilarious
Fake shark, nothing to fear!
OMG Kim trails in the 90's! They are still here worse than ever.
The best musician ever!
I got to meet Frank. He is the most authentic man I have ever met as well as kind honest and well spoken. His music still lives on today!
He was a Mozart of our time Not only his music also the philosophy was fresh and right on for your time
To have over an hour of 1970s material on tape is frankly a superb achievement. That the channel has a few hours of it is even more amazing.
I lived next door to this guy in benidorm woke him up at 6am every day on my way home from work for a joint and a few pints in the 24 hour bar we lived above lovely guy and miss him still
When I was young I always seen Jan Lemming as an old woman reading the news now as an older man I see she was very good looking
Gosh, this really is as piss poor as I remember it all of those years ago, for some reason Thames tv comedy was rubbish.
MARS BAR BIG BAR ,BIG BAR MY ARSE! HAVE SEEN THE SIZE OF THEM NOW, THEY DONT TASTE THE SAME AND THEY COST ABOUT 80P OR ROUND A OUT £1
Think he would have anything to say about Trump if he were alive today?
Clive James was top class -- loved listening to him. As many have said , his use of the English language was somthing to admire .
05:45
Is this analog TV?
34:14 what song and where is this from? is there a full show somewhere?
I think he was sad that he is leaving mainly because he had so much more to say and create. You can hear it in his voice and eyes. ❤
He was a hit and miss Impressionist for me, but I still loved watching him. His Parky and Grayson Impressions are superb.
Hi dunebaher1971 ok you copy dvd-r

What a treat to see the wonderful Vision on
The seventies and eighties jingle straight away reminds me of the gentle touch and upstairs downstairs 😂 LWT wasn’t our region but it produced many a good show across the network.
Johnny Ball was an absolute legend. I dont get why there is now zero educational stuff like this on TV 🤔
